extempore has no external funding. We are financed by the ability of our managing editor to supplement sales with her salary! Recent applications for funding have been turned down. We were told that the panel of decision makers of one particular funding body has “a tendency to prefer applicants who have had more time to establish their presence in the marketplace. They did acknowledge the quality of extempore…” Fair enough, another thing we have to cop. We’re still quite new, and very good… and the only way we can keep offering a publication of this quality (I mean, look at it!) without funding… is to advertise quality products and services in our pages and on the website. Your advertising dollar will help us stay alive as we ‘establish our presence in the marketplace’ …
